Prison Fellowship
NIV - Galations 5:13-14  You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."  If you keep on biting and devouring each other,
watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Along with other duties, I am a PenPal and corresponding with five prisoners across the US. I know from personal experience how much a letter means to somebody locked up in a cell.  And my PenPals have given me far more than I could ever hope to give them.  I heartily recommend to anyone that they get involved in this ministry.  Jesus told us that when we do something for others, we also do it for Him.  This is your opportunity to join with the thousands of others that fulfill this opportunity.

Vance Redden

Chuck Colson, right, stands with Vance at the "Celebrating Transformed Lives" event.  He came to Houston on September 26th to celebrate with hundreds
of Christian volunteers what was an inspirational and festive time. He also celebrated his 75th birthday and the 30th Anniversary of Prison Fellowship.

A Pen Pal Guide
Visit Prison in an Envelope

As a Pen Pal, you can bring hope, compassion, and the Gospel into a lonely environment. Prisoners are often isolated from family and friends. Often their relationship with a Christian pen pal is their only connection with the outside world. Imagine the witness it is to a prisoner when the only person who will write and be a friend is a Christian. Pen pals have the opportunity to engage in prison ministry without ever actually entering a prison.

If you would like additional information about this ministry, please download and read our training manual "Visit Prison in an Envelope" (Adobe Acrobat required) or call us toll free at 800-497-0122.

Prayer Focus

Please pray for the Pen Pal Ministry, that it might continue to grow in God’s will and that many more prisoners will be served.

Please pray for the hundreds of prisoners still on the waiting list, that they might be encouraged and that the Lord will draw them to Himself.

Please pray for the Lord’s guidance, blessing, and provision for Prison Fellowship USA and Prison Fellowship International.
